The new silk flowers - your opinions wanted!

Yea or Nay on silk flowers used to be obvious - you could usually spot them a mile away. These days however, the quality is getting higher, the arrangements more contemporary and elegant, and it's not always so easy to tell. Perhaps there is nothing like the real thing - but I have a hard time getting fresh flowers to last more than a few days and stopping my roommate's cats from eating them.

If you do go the artificial route, I suggest purchasing a few and swapping them out from time to time - nothing worse than dusty fake flowers, and it makes it seem like you're spending the money for fresh bouquets.

One definite reason to "yea" these bouquets is that they're all under $50 - easily what you'd spend on 4 weeks worth of these fresh. In fact, they start at $29.95. Check them out at HSN.

What do you think?

A surprising resource for home decorating (and it's on sale!)

I go through a novel a week commuting to and from work on the train, and I usually procure my literary enjoyment through Barnes and Noble. Little did I know they had such an extensive collection of home decor and small furniture goods until they sent me an email announcing their 20% off spring sale on their home collection. It's worth a look if you need things for your home office and or library.

OKA Home Design

I can't remember when or where I discovered OKA, but their website is chock full of pretty pictures in soft gray woods and neutral textiles. They have many stores in the UK and a catalog, but have any of you actually seen their products "in the flesh?" I'd love to know OKA's reputation, quality, and if it's priced reasonably for what you're getting.
