We had them when I was growing up, but being a child I rarely gave them a second thought. And when I was a teenager and not as into "home decorating" I equated them to stuffy victorian style interiors. But now - oh now I love them. Oriental rugs is what I'm talking about, and lately I've been seeing them used in ways that are definitely NOT stuffy and really plays out their beauty. Just fyi - because I wasn't sure, I looked up what region a rug must come from for it to be considered "Oriental" -

Do you like these rugs?
If you do, you will be excited as me by this sale. All the rugs below are only $399 and range from about 4'x 8' (some wider, some taller). They are from Momeni and are hand-knotted and one of a kind. They have some large, but pricier ones as well. They are selling out really, really fast though.

Two lovely portfolios - one a designer, one a photographer
Two talented artists for you today!
The work of Suzy Hoodless, who runs a design consultancy and styles residential interiors to advertising campaigns.

I like the tapestry, and I like the console...I'm just not so sure about what's going on with the legs...

I love her wallpaper designs, especially the top one.

And... the elegant and eclectic photography of photographer Simon Upton.

I've always liked art in the bathroom.

Lovely handmade items
I'm sure many of you have heard of Etsy, and I know many people who sell on Etsy. What I love about it is the personal nature of everything - it's not mass-produced, it's thoughtful, and it's usually pretty affordable! Have you bought anything from Etsy? Were you pleased??

These wall graphics are lovely! I love the hand drawn quality

My new favorites at Chiasso!
I always like finding Chiasso in my mailbox, because they always have something new that I haven't seen before, or something really unique and quirky. Also, they aren't ridiculously priced, so you can actually get some of the stuff that you like!

I love these colorful and bright doormats, when mine wears out I'll definitely be getting one of these!
I love this rug, it's simple but dramatic. I wish they'd add some more color options.
These candle holders are probably my favorite item Chiasso is carrying right now. They're modern, elegant, and clean.

$128 for a set of two is a great deal on these chairs.
So sweet! Little silver dove salt and pepper shakers
