Gorgeous reclaimed wood - do you have some?

I was introduced to Forest Dickey's work the other day and it's just stunning. He uses reclaimed barn wood -of which I've always been a fan. The unique thing is that with this historic medium he creates contemporary furniture! I particularly love his benches -

Of course, most furniture in reclaimed wood will probably be made one of a kind by craftsmen, which equals big bucks (and rightfully so), but you can find more accessible furniture - like these shelves made from old railroad tracks at vivaterra.

The Blå Station Polstergeist Bench

The Polstergeist Bench designed Christine Schwarzer in 2000 for the designer brand Blå Station from Sweden.


The family business BLÅ STATION established in 1986 is based in the Åhus on the Swedish south-east coast.

The Polstergeist Bench is Upholstered sofa/bench with a frame made of steel and wood.

Designer with one, two and no backed bench the designer allow one or many to fit in a room/living space and would make a feature with is almost primary colours.

Can anyone source this bench?

Last week in my chalkboard post there was a photo with this bench. You can see the 2009 House of the Year tour with this photo here at Country Living. One of our community members wrote to ask for the source of the red bench. I poked around a bit on Country Living's website and didn't find anything. I've written to the editors to see if they might know, but in the meantime I thought one of you might have an idea!

Stylish, affordable finds from LL Bean Home

LL Bean is well known for quality and affordability, but they aren't quite my style. I was surprised however, to look in my mom's most recent catalog from LL Bean home.
